Thanks, that's a great question. Provided that you are not posting pay-per-click or revenue-generation links, links to third-party products/retailers/wholesalers, links to third-party services or providers, links to auction or product listing sites (e.g., eBay, craigslist, etc.), etc., you should be good to go. Basically, this means no commercial advertising of any kind.

Appropriate signature content might include your name (use caution), your title, your employer (no link), your professional associations (i.e., PMI, IEEE, etc.), your academic credentials, your personal quotes (cite authors), etc.
