Nice lists!
Just wondering why you did not go for the Asus M4** FX line up of boards?

I would think that the M4** FX series would out perform the M3 series and GX series considering you can add up to 4 video cards to the system if need be.

I can just about afford a second video card compared to your high priced system.
This system with 2 or three video cards . . . *drooling!*

Or am I missing something here?

Huh?
I go by Geezer Wheelz, not Price Wheelz . . .
Maybe a try communicating in a complete sentence!

If you look at the bottom right hand corner of the picture then there is a price there . . .
Or were you meaning something else?

Hey, what does this mean? "PCIe#1 dead again starting to wonder about MSI Waiting on 3rd board"
Did you get one of the boards back from RMA and it was dead too? Sure hope not!

Whenever I RMA a board I always mark the edge of the board with a Jiffy Marker, that way even if they change the serial number I will still know if they just shipped me the same one back

I doubt you can do 1680*1050 gaming with a HD 3400 series.
Some of the target segments of the configurations should be corrected.

Caviar Green is not a good choice for rig gaming. You should change that with a black. Hitachi SATA drives are kind of obsolete. Use a WD blue there. Also, the AMD 770 MB could be replaced with a better one since it's a gaming rig. As for DVD burners, you could select Samsung only, since they are more reliable then the others from what I've recently tested.

Oh...and add a number as counter for each configuration so we can talk about them more easy.

Hmm thanks for suggestions - ya some minor overhaul is in order with Hemlock looming and all Actually my HDD of choice is the Samsung F3 series but i would say a person not looking for multi GPU would do well to cut a bit off mobo to land the juiciest single GPU solution hehe

Look out for monster bang for buck CPU bound rendering/encoding or CPU intensive tasking rig with the initial reports/benches of PhenomII X6 1055T
