The Phenom II 965 is a quad core vs. the six core 1055T...games these days aren't programmed to fully take advantage of four cores let alone six...sometimes chips with less cores end up pumping out more frames per second as long as your hardware doesn't have bottlenecks keeping it back...you should also check your drivers (CPU, video card, sound card, and etc.) and be sure your running stable versions of them...i wouldn't buy the 965 if i already have a six core CPU, but I'd stick with the 965 for gaming...six cores is overkill


EDIT: the 1055T doesn't need a crazy lot of overclocking because of having six cores...but when you do overclock be sure you have the right voltage, hypertransport multiplier, memory ratio, and a stable clock frequency
