The Phenom II 965 is a quad core vs. the six core these days aren't programmed to fully take advantage of four cores let alone six...sometimes chips with less cores end up pumping out more frames per second as long as your hardware doesn't have bottlenecks keeping it should also check your drivers (CPU, video card, sound card, and etc.) and be sure your running stable versions of them...i wouldn't buy the 965 if i already have a six core CPU, but I'd stick with the 965 for gaming...six cores is overkill

EDIT: the 1055T doesn't need a crazy lot of overclocking because of having six cores...but when you do overclock be sure you have the right voltage, hypertransport multiplier, memory ratio, and a stable clock frequency

Desktop: AMD Opteron 170 2.7ghz OC, 440gb HDD space (3 HDDs in RAID-0), 4GB RAM, Hec X Power Pro 600W PSU, Gigabyte GTX 260 OC, two dvd burners, HT Omega Striker 7.1 sound card

Laptop: Dell Inspiron 15 N5040, Core i3 380M, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD
