Might be a stupid question, but I mistakenly bought the A8 3850 quad 3ghz APU, not knowing it had (why, what sense?) onchip graphics.

I also ordered an nvidia graphics card. Can I use this graphics card with this CPU without problems?

yes you can run a nvidia gpu with the amd apu.
you just have to disable the onchip gpu and run just the nvidia card.

How do I disable the onboard chip? In bios? If so, how? Don't like touching bios usually

not too sure myself, i havent had any time to mess with a apu.
not sure if the OBG will disable itself when a descrete card is used-a quick GOOGLE should answer your question.

Usually this would be in the BIOS. I know my E350 has it in the BIOS and did see the option along with stuff like onboard NIC, etc. Should be able to just set it to disabled. Might also help to set that the initial display device on boot is not the on board one!
