I need new ram. I have narrowed it down to (512mb PC3200) Corsair XMS Xtra Low lat. 2-2-2-5' ">http://www.newegg.com/app/View...tion=20-145-521&depa=0 OCZ Enhanced Latency Series 2-3-2-5' ">http://www.newegg.com/app/View...tion=20-146-889&depa=0 I decided against ballistix because I want to do it through newegg. That leaves about 110 for other stuff. I was thinking A 37gb raptor. Or an XP-120. I have no idea, but I think you all can throw something at me. Thanks for helping.

i would get OCZ rev2.0 platinum series. but thats just me. i read a lot good results with OCZ after all, look at the name. OCZ! but, overclocking OCZ definitely has the edge. And that's whats its all about, not low CAS timings, but how far you can take it.

If you can be sure the XP-120 will fit, I would say that.
BTW, whats wrong with the old ram?

Yeah that OCZ RAM looks good. I aswell would get the Plat. Rev. 2. Well IMO if you have a good enough hard drive as it is right now, I would go w/ the XP-120.

I'd say go with a Hitachi 80 Gig HDD @7200 ... looks good, works good, tough n sturdy plus its fast enough.

Im actually now reconsidering Ballistix. Im confusing myself. Can PC4000 Ballistix @ 2.5-3-3-8 be lowered to 2-2-2-5 while at PC3200?
I guess it could go the other way around too?

Also check out G.Skill' ">http://www.excaliberpc.com/pro...o.php?products_id=4247 Newegg doesn't have em but they are some very awsome memory. I am going to be getting some instead of the OCZ in my sig.

I guess it could go the other way around too? well , make sure it says 2-2-2 capable before buying. rated 2-2-2 guranteed at DDR400 speeds.

Crucial upped their timing for PC3200 from 2-2-2-6 to 2-3-2-6 due to some older motherboards having problems with 2-2-2-6. Mine is running the two's @DDR 400 with no problem

I would go with OCZ. Also what are you using as of now to cool your CPU? IF it is not anything good go with the XP-120. IF not just get a raptor drive
