They have been working on this forum since August (skinning and customizations) so I think they'll add one as they go on.

I'm sure it's somewhere at the main site ... but I'm sure it should be a bit more visible

QUOTE (Mr. Brownstone @ Oct 6 2003, 03:05 PM) And they work just a smidge faster too... That's affirmative .. but then again, the difference in number of posts & users is measured in the ten thousands (posts) and hundred thousands (members)

Yeah, and the server the FM uses for the forums is a very lowsy one. If only they'd host the forum themselves too, like they do to their main site.

A forum doesn't really need a strong server to run on.

From the looks of this place, I think the dual Opterons are justified. Just look at the first day of operations. It will definitely get busier.

Perhaps its good the only way ppl are finding the forums right now are from other computer related sites. That way the forums wont get flooded with n00bs talkin about CS or something, but ppl actually talkin about computers

This board has been tested quite thoroughly over the past month. :-) glad ya'll like it... cheers, dave

With 100 active users, all of them making a steady stream of sql queries... it can bog the heck out of a server. And this is only the first day!
