you think the San Diego will be priced @ around 800$ usd (just like the a64 fx-51 when it was released), priced just a little higher than the a64 socket 754 (let's say around 500-600$ usd) or priced @ 400-500$ usd and the socket 754 a64 will drop to 250-400$ ?

i think it will be price competitive with the current FX-51...

look for a 10-15% depreciation before it's introduction.

cheers,

dave

I wasn't aware of them calling the cut down version of Athlon64 a Duron 64, but you never know

They are expecting to release an Athlon 64 with 256kb of L2 cache, as this would cut down the manufacturing costs (not to mention die size) significantly. I'm all for it, the cheaper Athlon 64's become, the better it is for us

I think it'll be in the same vicinity that the Athlon64 FX-51 is now.

I think it will be around the 500-600 dollar range for the San Diegos.

Once the San Diegos are out, the FX will be more available and known.
