I was disappointed with early reviews on the Tyan K8W Thunder because it was said AMD's USB 2.0 support was broken.
I have seen this repeated after the gamepc review at 2cpu.com:
http://forums.2cpu.com/showthr...s=&t...&threadid=42808' ">http://forums.2cpu.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42808
*BUT* I surfed over to the Tyan website, and saw USB 2.0 on the Tyan *Tiger* K8W
http://www.tyan.com/products/html/tigerk8w.html' ">http://www.tyan.com/products/html/tigerk8w.html
*BuuuuuT* I looked at the manual:
ftp://ftp.tyan.com/manuals/m_s2875_100.pdf' ">ftp://ftp.tyan.com/manuals/m_s2875_100.pdf
page 9
USB 2.0 seems to be provided by a VIA 6212
Can someone straighten this out?
Is the AMD 8111 USB 2.0 broken, or is it intended to support USB 2.0 using an exteranl chip a la Tyan Tiger K8W?
I think this is worth clarifying as their seems to be some confusion on some forums like 2cpu.
TIA
