As you can see, your 9600SE gets owned by a pathetic 5200Ultra
he knows that already thats why he is looking for an option

anyway, what scorpion said, sounds interesting, can anybody verify it or tell me where to verify it ?? coz if thats the case, I'd like to get a 9800 se for meself

he specifically asked "what are the benches of my card" and so I provided him with a link to the benchies...

What card do you have now?

accepted

Well the jump to the 9800SE sure would be great

How about a 6600AGP? It should be around $150 (prob less) and it equals the preformance of a regular 9800... Add another 50 bucks to that and you got yourself a 6600GT which will blow away the 9800PRO/XT

I own one of them in my machine, and its working 8 Pipelines with the Omega Drivers:

http://www.omegadrivers.net/' ">http://www.omegadrivers.net/

I sell computer equipment here in mexico where i live, and my providers bring me these cards by request, the bad thing is that i don´t know where they buy it in USA, but if you try to find it i think you will get it somewhere.

A friend told me that in Compusa.com where two months ago.
I have sold like 10 cards of these including the one im using, and 8 of them supported the 8 pipelines mod by omega drivers, the other 2 cards crashed with 8 pipelines working, but like i told before, as this cards work with the same core/memory frecuencies as the 9800 pro and are 256 bits they have awesome performance in "stock mode" with regular 4 pipelines and ATI Drivers, but if you´re lucky you can have with the omega drivers 8 pipelines working with one of this cards, and as the core and memory clocks are the same as the 9800 pro model, you finish useing a 9800 PRO for the price of a 9800SE.

Why waste $150!!!

Why not save up and get a decent GFX card like a nVidia 6800 or an ATI X800!?

That's what I'd do anyway...

grr, uninformed people...
first off, there will be no 6600 (non-GT) AGP8x, ever! (unless nVidia changes their mind and thinks theres a market for them)
second, the FX series is HORRID. A 9600 XT CAN and DOES beat a FX 5900 in anything that runs in directX 9. If you're playing purely openGL, then the 5900 will be a bit better than a 9600 XT, but even so, don't try DX9 with them. The entire FX series SUCKS (except MAYBE the 5700Ultra... maybe)
either go for a 9800 or save your money

Not everything... just the FX line. The GeForce FX series was a horrible failure, that's all there is to it.

I have nothing against nVidia (I own a 6800 for christ sake) they did a great job this time around, but I can never reccommend anyone to buy an FX.

It's nVidia, they're number one in their market. They could have put some dog [content edited] on a peice of PCB and still had decent sales.

Kind of reminds me of another company I know.

3dmark 03 is a DX9 bech, ain't it? And doom 3, and, and, and....

I would like to see a 5900 lose to a 9600xt in doom3, BF'nam, 3dmark 03, or any other non OpenGL bench.
