Hopefuly, it'll fit on my AIW card, and technicly it should, i found some out of the way pics of it, showing the underside of the sink, wich is actualy raised above everything, and a part comes down to just the core, pity it doesn't touch the ram, but that means i can add ram sinks wich is better than nothing, and tons better than stock I'll post after i get it all mounted and everything although if anyone has advice on how to remove the stock heatsink off an AIW 9600xt, let me know... i hate the hair-dryer method edit: i discovered a compatability list... incase anyone has an AIW card, or simply wants a pretty good, decent looking, and decently priced vga heatsink here's the linkage' ">http://www.arctic-cooling.com/...r/compatibility_en.pdf

pretty much yeah, just for oc'ing
there are two reasons im getting that cooler
one, its a nice sized cooler, with a decent fan and proven quality, and allows space for ramsinks
two, it takes up a pci slot, but it uses that pci slot as an exaust, so instead of the hot air re-circulating back into your system, its blown out the back.

will do, gotta find some cheap as [content edited] ramsinks before i mount it though, the way it sits, i figure i should mount the ramsinks first

see, i dont know that cause my vid card i have on this no fan, i am buying for my new 939 system i am building ethier a 9800 pro or a 6800 nu, prob going 9800 to save a lil money cause i am not a hardcore gamer and dont expect to play the new games

If you get a 9800 pro and if it is a Built by ATI like mine, you will probably find it's little fan a bit noisy... unless noise does not bother you...
But on mine, I find the fan to be really whiney... So that is the main reason why I chose this cooler... since I dont overclock the card....

There's more to that cooler than OCing. Silence is one thing, the actual cooling is another! Should run about 50% cooler than a standard card. You won't need anything more than a 9800 Pro, KoolAidWA, it'll handle anything you want, even current games.

Just got that Arctic Cooler ver 3 in, and installed it
Fits PERFECTLY on my ATI AIW 9600XT, and i do mean perfectly. No bending things out of the way, no nudging things up close, nothing, just pure, straight forward, perfect mounting..
I also bought some vantec bga heatsinks, cause this cooler doesnt touch the ram
So... Stock stats on my card
Core 525
Mem 325
Current stats on my card
Core 600 -- Max
Mem 345 -- Max
i plan on doing a little more, but im happy with the stability i have now...
i wanna try and milk a little extra out of the ram if i can... considering the core is well above what i thought it would go

Good to know it fits cause i'm getting that exact card. If the fan is too noisy i'll probably get an arctic silencer.

the arctic silencer i got is definetly quiet, and the toned down version is even quieter...
all things considered, i had to turn off my normal cooling fans to even hear it in the first place... but thats just cause i live in a hot area, and silencing isnt really a big thing in my book
