Its sweet, smooth and easy on the wrists to use. I definately would reccommend getting that bundle pack if anyone is looking a new mouse in the next few weeks.

I was going to get a Wireless Laser mouse, and pad seperate, but then I heard about the lag you get from the wireless and the laser switching off, so I thought I wouldnt bother and saved myself £40 by buying this bundle instead.

Oh....I was using a generic optical (400dpi) mouse and back of a fileblock for my mousing needs previously......not really something I would reccommend. /blush.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blush.gif' />

I love the MX510 and own an earlier version of it. Do you think the steelpad is worth it alone if you've already got a conventional mousepad?

I use the red MX510, great gaming mouse. Got it for $30, about a year ago. I also have a pair of the wireless M$ Intellimouse Explorers (red and blue - got them on sale, $15 each), and while they are good, fast mice, they are not for gaming, IMO (no clicking in the wheel).

Its [content edited]ing ridiculous for the pad alone considering its only really a piece of "orange peel" plastic with rubber sprayed on the base.

It does work well however, and if you buy it on its own it coes with a carry case for LAN's and something else which I've forgotten mid-way through typing this post. Porabably a sticker or something though. /smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

I currently use an MX518, sweet mouse. I also have a Ratpadz GS mouse pad. Good for gaming but I dont think the ratpadz is great for logetivity. It requires a lot of mantenance and the little bumps on it are wearing off in the middle. How is the steelpad?

Also I had a Logitech MX1000 lazer wireless. It uses fast RF technology that you could not see any lag in a game. When I switched from a MS Intellimouse explorer 3.0 to the MX1000 I gamed way better. It does make a great gaming mouse and I love that it doesnt have the wire hanging off the back. Only problem I had with it was it was a little heavy and I broke it /sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' />

Well.....not steel as a matter of fact.....I thought it was. I say it'll last about 4 or 5 months before I kill it by wearing it down.

Still, now I see what material the surface is I'm pretty [content edited] sure I can buy the stuff in 1 metre square sheets from my local B&Q (Hardware store). I'll just cut off the size I need and file the edges down to smoothness, and I'll have lots of super "el-cheapo" Steelpads for about 1/4 the price of one normal branded Steelpad. It wont have a logo though, will that impair my gaming ability?.... /wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

buy the sheet and cover your whole desk with it /tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /> Then you would never run off the mousepad, still might hit the keyboard.

Tell you what though, if I do manage to find a suitable material, does anyone here want an "LPL Brand Gamers Mousepad"?

On the subject of pads, has anybody used this' ">http://www.allsop.com/mouse-pa...l-metal-art-mouse-pad/ pad? I can get it locally for $8, and my current cheap pad is starting to wear out.

Hmm....I wonder if I could get them with a logo on somewhere, get an AMD logo in the corner or something?

AMD wouldn't mind would it if I only charged P&P, right?

Could give them out to all forum members with over a certain post count or something....generate some action on these fourms. Maybe its just me, but things seem to be rather a lot quieter here than a few months ago, and it is in the middle of the neverending September too...

Anyway, enough for now, I'll have to see if I can even get the material first.

IMO its ugly, but it looks like it would work for a gaming mouse pad.

Wow, it really is one ugly mofo of a mouse pad! $2 though? They may as well give them away.
