Most intriguing: http://www.nforcershq.com/article3260.html' ">http://www.nforcershq.com/article3260.html
I estimate that there is no way something like this can hit the market until Q4 2008.

Oh man. R600 talk already? Well, it is the next architecture. Stats or no stats....its ATI's next generation. People say 2006....I doubt it. More like 2007.

Now thats something Matched with 2GB of RAM With an FX-57 CPU, Might play Doom3 On Ultra setting's, completly maxed out @ 1600x1200, The Main Problem i would think is the CPU in most cases, To go along with this video card, I mean what is the point in having a 64 pipeline card if the CPU cannot process that much information, I mean Even with some X850XT PE's at the moment, They are CPU bottlenecked in someway's.

But if them specs are even anyway true, Simply amazing...

Given the 32 pipe debacle, I think a 48 pipe solution from ATi is a minimum 3 years out (and I think nVidia will hit it before ATi does).

I find it highly amusing this is even being conjectured atm.

If the Xbox360 that has the 48 pipeline ATI GPU that is already in production, then who is to say that they cannot have a 64 pipeline GPU?

Yeah, XBox 360 has 48 pipelines. Unified shader architecture. Thing is, it is 48 pipelines....but by the time we get above 48 pipes.....the clock speeds of the Desktop GPU's will be higher, and GPU architectures from NVidia will increase in efficiency, and features(anyone that says different...well, there is a problem there). By the time the R600 will be released, NVidia's new architecture will be out, more efficient, and faster in clock speed. R600 will be based somewhat on the Xenon, but it will need to be faster than 500mhz(current Xbox 360 clocks). I dunno. The 64 pipe thing...like a bridge too far. Like Ronin said....with the problems on the R520....I wouldnt say "64 pipes for sure". Its a possibility, but not a big one.

maybe they should work on getting the R520 out before they start making the R600... /blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' />

64 pipelines include pixel and vertex pipelines.
We already have 32 of these with the 7800GTX, and thats only 110nm.
I'm sure nVidia can double this by the end of next year. /smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />
They still have to maximize 90nm and 65nm.
If not, quad SLI is still out there as an option.

All in time. I dont understand why the next gen cant be 256 Pixel pipes, 64 vertex pipes with a core speed of 2ghz and GDDR4 memory. We have the technology, why not do it? Probably too expensive.

When this thing comes out, would it require an extra power supply like the 7800?
