I doubt this is even true, as 64 bit pipelines will horrible bottleneck a 256 bit memory bus, even at 1.8Ghz.....we need 512 bit bus for that.....

Sorry for my confusion, but would the R600 need additional power from the PSU?

QUOTEThe fat lady hasn't sang just yet. wink.gif someone posted benchies for that card....and, er not impressive at all, in some games R520 beat the 7800GTX by 2-3 FPS, but in most games they were tied, and the R520 is about $150 more expensive i have a small preference towards ATi, but if those benchies were correct, then i see no reason to go ATi with this generation of cards

Well someone, they werent benchmarks. The "reviewer" didnt have the card to bench. That means a benchmark didnt take place. And yet people say "yeah...that will work", card suppliers only have X1800XL's, which are clocked about 125mhz core, and close to 500mhz memory less than the X1800XT. So, if he had the XL, and those are the benches....I say ATI is in good standing. But seriously....nobody...NOBODY should trust those benches. Since he didnt even have the card, never held the card, and "heard" what the results were. He doesnt even know the Benching enviroment. Sham. Although, I dont think ATI will be blowing anyone out of the water here. Maybe keeping pace....but not beating the 7800GTX. Aint no way.
