Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse made by Microsoft, does anyone know how long this thing will run for the typical uber geek? As I am on the computer all freaking day. Gotta say this mouse is freaking sweet, except for the fact it is freaking TINY AND MY HANDS ARE HUGE

Is it one of those notebook mice? It should last u at least a year. Msoft's mice arent that bad compared to other no-name companies' mice. But i HAVE to admit, my Logitech MX600 i got for xmas pwns any M$OFT mouse.

Well I meant for the battery life span... But I will take care of it really good, especially since I didn't buy it.

seriously i dont know why anyone would ask such a question

if my vaio ball mouse lasted me 3yrs and my old msoft ps/2 intellimouse 5 yrs then that notebook mouse should last just as long (at least 2-3 yrs).

uh.. whats the difference between optical and laser mice?

i dont mean scientifically... like.. would a person notice a difference using one or the other?

This thing isn't rechargable.. It runs on a AA battery.

erm.. get rechargeable AA batteries.

heck.. my first MS wireless intellimouse ate batteries like a mouse eats cheese so had to get rechargeable.

Thank goodness battery life is alot longer on the intellimouse version 2.

my wireless optical mouse is 4 yrs old n it uses up 2400mAh batteries on average every 6 weeks. good think i have rechargeable batteries or would cost me like $50. btw does the newer wireless optical mouse always have its light on?

This mouse that I am using like always has the [content edited] light on..I'd say 3 weeks tops.

yeah the ms intellimouse version 2 always has that red light on underneath but it still lasts ALOT longer than the first version. I'm still surprised at how long it lasts LOL
I also like it alot better cuz its more comfortable than the first one and has more buttons too (the mouse wheel tilts side to side too)

im really surprised at how long the batteries in my keyboard have lasted. almost 3yrs now.
