Ok, I was looking at SLI boards when I saw this one and read its specs. Yes, its specs say it has 2 PCI-Express 16x slots, 1 PCI-Express 1x slot and 3 PCI slots. Thats 6 slots total. Ok, now get this, look at the main picture. It has 7 slots 1 slot in the middle between the 2 PCI-Express 16x slots and looking like an exacly duplicate as the 2 PCI-Express 16x slots only blue... What the heck is going on? What is it for? Heres the link.

One should note that these are considered to be among the fastest boards out there, due to the slot layout. No jumpers. If you are running a single video card, you use the middle 16x slot, if you want SLI, use the outside two 16x slots.

which is wierd, doestn SLi still use the chip bridge to connect the 2 cards? Hows it work with the extra space?

//edit I really dont know what Im talking about with SLi, I am not impressed with it and dont play on owning it, EVER. Unless it becomes standard. Id rather buy 1 7800GT or GTX than 2 6800 Ultras. Its kind of a waste. Ive had plenty good gaming with my 6800 vanilla. In the future I will splurge for the next up card, such as the 6800GT when I got mine, but never splurge for SLi. (unless I get rich after college).

No no no, I'm not talking about the bridge, I'm talking about the SLI selection "card" that all other SLI boards use. That slows them down.

That card is double sided, put it one way, you run the slots independantly, oput it the other way it combines them. That is the single/sli selection card most SLI motherboards have. Some may not have that, but have jumpers instead. The Jetway and its new clone, the Evga use a three slot solution to eliminate the slowdown that occurs when a selector card or jumpers are used.
