Hmm....a picture is worth a thousand words:

' ">http://img383.imageshack.us/my...image=whatsthis0fq.jpg

Right, questions:

1) What is Dr Watson?
2) Why does it need to make a log file 6 Gigabytes in size??
3) After deleting that log file last night why in gods name has it already created a 1.5GB replacement already?
4) How do I get rid of the log file?

Cheers! /smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

Making my PC somewhat laggy btw. (The PC being an Opty @ 2.75Ghz...)

Dr. Watson is some stupid MS program that RARELY is used anymore.

I only noticed the [content edited] thing when I ran a defrag last night and noticed that the most fragmented file on my PC was a crazy .txt file 6GB is size...

I'm guessing virus or malware, though I'm clean according to my scans. /unsure.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='unsure.gif' />

Its not a virus, nor malware. Its a log file that it keeps of what it does IIRC.

Its grown by 200Mb since I last posted...

Also just tried to open it and WinXP suffered a general protection fault, and had to reboot.

Wheres all the resident "Windows Bugginess" experts today? Still in bed? /wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

Deleted its registry key.

No more irritating bloated log files. /biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' />

PC is still randomly crashing though, but thats only because I'm not fiddling with voltages for stability.

Just as a heads up, that is the normal Dr. Watson, but there was also a Dr. Watson virus' ">http://securityresponse.symant.../data/pf/drwatson.html.

Get rid of it. I pull it out of XP when building it with nLite. You don't need Dr. Friggin Watson!

Speaking of nLite, how did you get yours to 112MB Ninja? I can only get it to remove about 5 megs /sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' />

I gotta ferk aroudn with it, in the settings where you want to remove stuff, i cant figure out how to actually REMOVE something from the list.

Tick the boxes for whatever you want to remove. It couldn't really be simpler. You gotta research what NOT to remove though, so be careful. Read up on the nLite forum.

To disable Dr. Watson
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit.exe in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Locate and click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug
NOTE: Steps three and four are optional, but they necessary if you want to restore the default use of Dr. Watson.
3. Click the AeDebug key, and then click Export Registry File on the Registry menu.
4. Enter a name and location for the saved registry file, and then click Save.
5. Delete the AeDebug key.

Is there something you can do with that, like save it as some .txt file that you can use to tell NLite what it should strip out....or does it have to be done manually?

That file is the "Last Session.ini". This is kept inside the ISO and can be loaded later on if you wish to load the same session. That sometimes causes problems though. I like to do everything from a fresh XP with nothing removed.
