On certain motherboards, the K8N is no exception, depnding on which port you plug the sata into, Windows will recognize it as swappable. I know on my Gigabyte k8ns utlra I am using the Nforce 3 slots, and I have no icon in windows. But according to the documentation if I change to the Silicon chip it will be seen as swappable.

Hey, I never noticed that... I can remove my SATA HDD /tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /> I have the same HDD as you with a K8N Neo2 Platinum and it looks normal if I have it too.
