Im going to upgrade to a 64bit proc this week and want to buy a better gpu.
Which 6800 is better?
Asustek GeForce 6800 256MB AGP DVI-I VO' ">http://www.dabs.com/uk/channel...iew.htm?quicklinx=382H
or this one
Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/2200 256MB AGP DVI-I VO' ">http://www.dabs.com/uk/ProductView?quicklinx=35F0
Theres only £2 difference in price, and i dont want to get something that could hold me back. The new card will have to be with me for at least 12months.

That is the Golden Sample. Those are clocked higher than other brands.

I've heard nothing but good things about the ASUS.

i'd have to agree that the ASUS is a very good quality brand - i've occasionally seen some issues recently on hardware sites in customer feedback concerning overheating with the gainwards, but it's probably just a bad batch. Yeah, the gainwards are good at overclocking and are still a good quality brand, but i've always rated ASUS higher...

Whichever one is cheaper.

Id say the assus. The Assus uses Gddr3 the gainward is ddr (thoguht I dont really know the advantage of that..heh) Also the asus has a 1ghz memory clock speed. the Gainward is 700mhz. Significant diff their id say. (Im just looking at the specifactions listed on the buy page)

Basically if you are getting a LCD, get one with a good contrast and brightness ration-->BVchurch @ Jan 30 2005, 12:53 PM
Why don't you post links rather than bossing people around.@Max Axe-->danm
