Alright so i found out more info about the hardware that i got given to me, So pretty much i got an Avid Media Composer with a Powermac 9600/300, Video Slave Driver, Audio Conversion Box(looks just like the vsd), 2 19inch monitors, one sony high res viewing monitor with tons of connectors on the back, one avid IS23 external scsi media shuttle, another no name external scsi drive, a large sony sound mixing board, color coded avid keyboard, and a rack enclosure with different video setting controls, and of course avid software. So other than video editing and stuff, is there anything else worthwhile i can do with all this? Internet or other stuff? I gotta know if its worth setting up because this is like a gigantic desk worth of equipment. thanks

EDIT: Also does anyone know if this can edit video from my miniDV camera? maybe through the rca outputs?

what kind of connection is on your mini dvi camera? firewire would be the connection of choice here, but I don't know if a mac that old would have firewire on it anywhere

I would set it all up just for the learning experience

If you sent it over this way I could check it out for you although I can't guarantee you'd ever get it back But yea, firewire would be good although as MrWicked said, a mac that old might not have firewire although some of the older iMacs did so I'm not fully sure myself.
