This looks very promising imho. The particular bit I like is that the future X.org 7.3 is supposed to be able to configure its self for the graphics hardware on the fly and if the main driver doesn't work, move down to something that does such as a VESA driver or something. imho this brings X11 into the 1990s let alone the 2000s.
There are also people who don't like the use of proprietry drivers with future version of Ubuntu, I can understand what they mean but personally if it doesn't cause legal troubles I don't care, I just want it to work.
