His recommendations:
QUOTE(Derek Wilson @ AnandTech)$150 - $220: GeForce 7600 GT (stock)
$230 - $280: Radeon X1900 GT
$290 - $320: GeForce 7900 GT (overclocked 550/775 +)
$320 - $370: Radeon X1900 XT

Thought some people around here might find it useful.

they should have included the 7600GS. at stock it's easily better than a 6600GT and better than a 6800GS when overclocked.

That's without the 68gs being OCed.

so? I have a $100 video card in my computer that equals and sometimes outperforms the previous generation's high end. that's never happened before, and it's not likely to happen again.

try finding a 6800GS for that price.

when I got mine, it was $119 with a $20 evga mail in rebate. even at $110, it's a performance bargain.

here's my card at newegg for $109 with a $10 rebate. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16814130020

True, but at $110 the 76gt is only 31% more, at $100 the 76gt is 45% more than it price wise making it not worth it to spend the extra money IMO when the 76gs OCs so well, at $110 its worth it for gddr3.

NOTE: assuming price of $145 for 76gt.

the 7600GT is clearly a better card, my original point was that the 6600GT has been completely outclassed by the 7600GS (and now the 7300GT), and it should have been in anand's comparison instead of the 6600GT.

If they have the XT in there for that price, they might as well include the XTX.

I love how the multi-GPU revolution is driving down single GPU prices. Just as I predicted...

jeez...still no love for the 7600GS. if there's another $100 (not used) video card that can score 72K+ in AM3 let me know.
