how? ok, well instead of there being Intel, AMD, Nvidia, and ATI, its just Intel, AMD, Nvidia. its a little hard for me to explain it, but 4 corporations -> 3 corporations IS less competition.
(AMD didnt make gfx cards but it is still its own corporation in itself)

I’ll just put it simply by saying that is incorrect. There are two major players in the CPU game, and three major players in the GPU game. Nothing has changed or will change except for somewhere in the future ATI's name might change to AMD. There will still be 2 and 3 competitors respectively. The only downside that can be argued as to the AMD / ATI merger is the loss of jobs due to department overlap. Everything else is speculation.

Oh God forbid AMD buyers should lose the options of hot running innefficient ported chipsets...

And what about SiS? ATI? If you don't like VIA, they aren't the only option...

If they start making AMD graphics cards, then it will confuse the heck out of consumers. They might as well keep it ATI.

substitute words like "despite"

EDIT and as mentioned above, AIMED makes no sense.

sorry but you are the one in error here
and even if it was a typo
that makes it untrustable?

okaaayy this is getting off topic here

i think intel wants nvidia because nvidia is producing more igp's to keep up with ati, whose radeon xpress igp's are REALLY popular in a lot of laptops now.

Yes it is.

Intel is king in terms of IGP's, but they need to compete with ATI's performance IGP's, and if they work with Nvidia (they don't have to BUY nvidia), they can make performance IGP's to compete with the Red and Green.
