In this review they were only able to push the DFI LanParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R (DFI's high end motherboard) to slightly less than 290mhz. This is very small compared to DFI's former glory.

i heard that the nforce5 seris in general were no god overclockers... bu i'm not so sure.

IIRC the foxconn overclocked fairly nicely.

EDIT: I remember now: it was for intel that the nforce500s didn't OC well for. Thus came the nforce600s.

On this site http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4048&s=10 the got 378MHz for a max htt.
These guys http://www.tweaktown.com/revie.../pag...king/index.html got 375MHz.

Even with those above there are other sites that show the mobo struggling to hit between 300-350MHz htt.

I'm sick of DFI and their prices and everyone saying well if you want to overclock you HAVE to go with DFI. Now...that hasn't really happenned in awhile, thankfully, but I really don't see this as something bad. Something to throw in their face though...come on I got my Asrock to 365

Chances are they will find some major flaw though and release some BIOS update...bleh

I cant stand DFI had a few boards of their back in the pentium II and 3 days. YUCK. Wont touch them. Both died. One less then a year old. So......washed my hands clean of them long ago. Id buy a budget asrock anyday over one. But prefer MSI or asus these days.

i love my dfi's got around 45 of them all in pcs

great i never overclock them but

the new ones dont overclock well becuase of chipset

we all know there lot trouble with nf5/6 with installing windows and stablity issues (read it on i think hardforum) huge thread about it

Well, I didn't read the whole thing, but 290 could be an inssue for the RAM.
