looks like DirectX 9.0L is not going to let us play direct x 10 games on xp.

http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=35140

they seem to do this ALOT,we have to learn not to look for back up sources before spreading the rumors.

The INQ is a great site for entertainment, but we have to remember how it loves to say anything that will get people to click.
bet they make alot from those addvertisments on there page.

ofcourse they always is the chance their "sources" are wrong and the L for something else.....

but wont crysis still wont on xp because it can be played on direct x 9.just wont have all the newer flashy stuff,or thats what i think i read a few months ago when i saw a vid of ingame crysis gameplay.

Now do you see why not many people actually trust what they say. Or for that fact count them as a reputable source.

As soon as I saw inquirer I discarded the information because I don't trust them at all.

My question (as if it realy matters at all) is what are they going to do then? are they going to make games for both DX10 and DX9 ? or are they going to force all of us to change video cards and CPU's and Mobo's just to play a video game?
And will this not affect the gamming industry as a whole for PC users?

Just a thought but I dought you will even see this in time .

at least the Inq, Fuad in particular, was decent enough to print a correction and not bury it in some obscure corner of their site.

I know the initial impressions of Crysis are very positive, but what happens if it sucks when it actually hits the shelves?

there's only so much hype one piece of software can support.

I don't care to much about Crysis anyway. Learned to many times that lots of hype = bad game.

Only directx games would be affected..

There are alot of OpenGL games..That don't even use Microsoft enginges... *franticly waits Enemy territory: quake wars*

If they made the new games DirectX 10, they'd be seriously killing their business.. Unless wait, it makes sense, the advertising in game will make up for the loss revenue! genius's!

Is there anything useful to learn? Not really. At least, not when you really think about it.

I don't understand why so many people read whats in the inquirer and complain when it turns out false. Its a great site and it is right more than wrong.

Sometimes I think people just like to complain.
