Using Nero Vision to do AVI to DVD and MPEG to DVD, with all auto settings it works pretty good and it's pretty fast on a dual core.

Does 2-pass take twice as long as 1-pass?
The time 2-pass adds compared to 1-pass, is it worth it in video quality and/or audio quality?

i believe audio quality is not affected... the audio is just ripped and converted separately from the video.. then they are both joined together again.

so yeah.. 2 passes will give better quality but does take twice as long.

not sure if nero recode does it.
but if it does, it does it amazingly fast as it does not re-encoded the video exactly.. it transcodes it.. whatever that means.

but the difference is not very noticeable and "recoding" is super fast.
