just found an MSI 7800GT for about $270. why are the prices on this card dropping so much? i think the demand for them is pretty high. does anyone know why? http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16814127190' ">http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16814127190

Gotta sell the old stock before they release their new GPUs.

They're getting cheaper because these' ">http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16814142053 are getting cheaper too, and since they offer video encoding and gaming getting better with the driver updates, nVidia has to do something to keep selling! The 7800GTs are probably the most popular cards right now, so if they get even cheaper, more people will actually buy them. I think it's a smart move personally.

Realistically, that'll probably be about a year.

i wouldnt buy it if it was 200 then, if you have to wait a year, i mean personally ati is coming out with unified shaders, that will be like triple the performance on visual effects and eye candy
