go into Vista, and under "My PC" or "Computer" properties, search for a section that in XP it's called something like "Startup and recovery"... see the options that you have there, and select the option that provides a menu at boot.
Thanks!! My windows XP was borked so I had to rewrite my master boot list and add another windows boot, with your tip I disabled the 30 second boot menu and now I don't have to go through that menu. SchwEEEt, thanks.
