As all of you probably know, I have a DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+. Will DDR(400) ECC registered RAM work in this motherboard? Just wondering if the register functions gets disabled on motherboards that don't support it. If this is so, then does it apply to the ECC function as well? It's UCCC memory, which is the only reason why I'm looking at it.
Since your mobo doesn't support ECC RAM, I doubt it it will work at all. Either way it won't be worth trying out IMO. If the mobo doesn't support such RAM normally it won't boot up with it or give you the warning beeps (and LEDs in some) at the start, simply.
For the sake of knowledge, if you have Buffered ECC Memory Modules, give them a try in your Socket 939 Motherboard for compatibility purposes. Though I recall that you once did something similar succefully...
