It looks like there might be something on the way which will allow us to use DX10 with our XPs and DX9 video cards. I wonder how well this will end up working.

methinks maybe that this will be a ble to be used on linux os? final death to winblows?

Final death is along ways off for Windows. If you start hearing that a major manufacturer goes to Lisux(and not just an option) then Windows would be in trouble.

Lets be frank - Linux is a much more powerful OS than windows, but there is a reason why windows is still most used. Most people can hardly use xp well much less linux. The death of windows is a long ways off.

Ubuntu 7.04 along with Automatix made things a heck of alot easier. My wife and kids can use it now.

Few develop third party Linux components for corporate software. It is not worth the time or cost because few use Linux at the corporate level. I don't know of any corporation in the US switching to Linux from Windows. Windows is easier to manage. You have one place for Windows upgrades. The base product is consistent. Linux is fine for home user and college students. It will not replace Windows.

alright, alright! i concede. gaming wise perhaps though? people that want to get as much miney into there comp as possible, so they don't want to fork out for an o/s?
