Yes, this is what is stopping me. Well.., that and the money to to pay for this little "science project". I certainly don't need another Windows or Linux machine and would not choose that recommended hardware to build it if I did.

I have a buddy trying to make a Hackintosh with his AMD Sempron Dell. I have ran across posts on the net about doing it with Mac OS 10.4, but not with 10.5. Trying to figure out how to do this and get it so all drivers are working as well. Any suggestions?

I Created a AMD based Hackintosh & mine worked fine & I am using it in fact everyday, but the only difference with me is I made sure I read in all of the Hackintosh forums & got all the worst case scenerio's & things together & plan B's & all of that. I even downloaded all of the drivers before I installed it & I also bought a ethernet card that would work with it & also a Pioneer DVDRW Superdrive & I used LEO4All v3 & also the Leo4all patch update & it works wonderful. Oh & before anyone says anything, I am not a leech. because own 5 new macs because I wanted one for each room in my home & I have 10 windows/Linux Based PC's I just wanted to install OSX on my pc just because I can & I am a computer geek ,so why not. I have been giving steve jobs my money ever since my first purchase from apple which was an Apple II & I even want to buy a mac mini to put in my car,YES YES I am a geek & proud of it(GEEK POWER)(hehe). But people all you have to do is do your research first & read in the forums what others have used & thats it. The only thing that took more time to find for me was the video driver for my AGP Geforce 5200 old video card & after I found the right driver it works wonderfully I can play dvd's & use everything on a mac & my brother now wants one built & like I told him ,all I did was take a scrap pc & just made sure that the motherboard & all the hardware would work inside of a hackitosh box & my sound for one is(ac97) which works like a champ using(leo4all v3),so people just use google & do your research. I will try to post some links for you all interested in Hackintosh's so it will be easier on you. And excuse me if I break any rules by posting links, but I am new to this forum,so if I do something like posting links, please let me know & I will not do it again. I will post these links well atleast try to below this post.Enjoy my fellow Computer Geeks!

This video works atleast for me on all of the osx x86 installs
& any other distros. Do not try to install these x86 on real
macs because if I understand it correctly , then you will be
sorry, like the other people on here that I see trying to install
osx x86 ports on real macs. But anyway my video link above
you can use & apply to any of them like 1. (kalyway),
2. (iatkos),3. (leo4all v3final (or) just Leo4all)
& 4. (Jas 10.4.8 Amd.Intel.sse2.sse3 ) (or) (Jas 10.4.8)
Again here is my link on how to dual boot xp & osx on windows
pc only. http://www.streamocracy.com/wa...ual-boot-XP-&-Mac-OSX

Oh & people if you want to use the best boot cd ever try Hirens boot cd. Here is an older link to where I uploaded one & it is only I think around 84 MB & it has a ton of the best tools for partitioning & any & everything else that you might want
to do on your computer or with your computer. Like if you have any type or kind
of partition & you cannot get it off then this iso will help you. It will even fix your
(Master Boot Record) that is if you mess it up. Burn the iso using nero or use
anything as long as it can burn a iso image. Here is the link to my
upload page http://www.esnips.com/doc/a108...b39/Hirens.BootCD.7.8

Enjoy people! I use this boot cd for any & everything. You will be suprised at how many good well known expensive apps are on this iso. have fun & remember to burn as a image disc(cd) not as a data image(cd). Good Luck.

Wow dude, thanks for the posts and info.

Interesting that someone new to the Forums (or at least to being a member) would post in a thread that's been dead since October. But welcome! Looks like you bring something to the table so to speak. Hope you hang around for a while.

And yes Hiren's RUUUULES.

You know apple could pull off something great if they could have incremental releases that supported more X86 hardware to begin with.

I'm not saying take the MS route and try to have a "one size fits all"

They could say, the following hardware works with this OS, so build with this hardware...

They could increment what hardware works...

They could steal the OS market but they are too focused on phones and music players.
