Sadly, that's probably the best we'll ever see for socket 939, but it does hold it's own. Scores have been updated as of the time of this post. I'll have to make a backup of the scores, because Fusetalk is already starting to give me grief in editing the post multiple times. It always seems to go back to the original post. I've tried clearing my cache but it still does it.

~6550 is All i seem to get from mine with the phentoo...odd.

That's the same ram with my Athlon 6400, I doubt 26mhz would make that drastic of a difference in read speeds. I think I'll submit those, lol.

AMD Athlon X2 6400+ BE @ 3.41GHz @ 1.45 | 213 | 5/16| 1.8Ghz | G.Skill PC8000 4x2GB @ 852Mhz - 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8v | 9278MB/s
Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 f7h
AMD770
AMD SB600
Windows Vista Ultimate x64

yay!

[edit] my bad, forgot to change a few numbers when I copy/pasted, all better now

I was reading a review of Gigabyte boards and there seems to be a bug when overclocking. Memory and hard drive results go down. Try a stock run and see if your memory improves. That's my only idea I can think of right now.

board was more OCed with the Athlon, in fact, the only thing I have changed right now is the Multiplier and the CPU voltage...dats it! lol

Meh, my ram scores were comparable to other systems in that competition I ran the chip in, so I'm not to concerned.

I ran a Gigabyte Board for a year and never had a problem with mine. As a matter of fact, with my 6400+ my memory clocks were in the 10k MB/s read speeds with my geil memory, I just cant seem to find the screenshot.

I think thats your problem Immortal, your not changing the bus speed, therefor your not upping the speed of the memory. All your doing is overclocking the cpu, not the memory.

Yeah, i know, but there's still a 2000Mb/sec discrepancy, which is in no way made up by 26mhz, lol.

Yeah, just ran the memory bench in Sandra...I'm getting 10362MB/s Read, and 10221MB/Sec Write

Somethings amiss.... >.>

And I could OC the CPU via HT I guess, it's plenty doable. What I wish gigabyte would do is release an update that allowed a 5x memory multiplier so I can start at 1000Mhz, the sticks won't boot at 1066, which is a shame,, but what the hey, they're only guaranteed to OC to 1000 from 800. but a nice HTT of 219 IITC, would give me the same, 3504Mhz. I know, I'm at 3.4 right now, havn't gotten around to changing it, and AOD doesn't work =(

When you populate all the DIMMS 1066MHz defualts to 800MHz. Same deal on my parents Phenom, so I just tightened up the timings at 800MHz and OC'd the base clock by 9MHz. It works out fairly close to the same anyways.

PC-GURU -, I need the rest of your information so I can fill in the blanks for yuor higher score and your other score you submitted for your 9950.

It's open to Intel systems too, unless the mods tell me otherwise.... Updated the benchmarks again. You know there's a lot of "older" systems at the top.... Time for the new boys to step up and see if they can take 'em down.

I can give it a whril, i suckered my self with this new G.Skill Ram. My brother wanted faster ram for his sytem, so i gave him mine, and he bought me this. its slower, but yet its 1066mhz. But ill give it a run maybe tomorrow. Get the cpu up to 4ghz and see how the memory clocks up.

Same deal, Sandra had 11118Read, 11112Write, and Everest is struggling to make anything close tho what I had before at a faster speed than my old system!!?

I notice you have the beta everest, but I'm guessing you need that so it recognizes the Phenom correctly? Or maybe it's an issue with the Phenoms and the L3 cache? I know Sandra reports Phenoms correctly.... Are we entering a team into Winter Warz? This old socket 939 might have enough juice left to provide a few points for us.

Nope, its just the version I happened to have a key for.
No idea on the L3
Sandra is happy
Cvsi3 and I are on the raptor pit forums team, not the same category though IIRC.
I'll run my opty tomorrow

Haha, you can if you want, im gonna tell you now tho, We have some of the big dogs playing, L2N Cooling, Dice, Phase, some of these guys will fry a system to win. We just had 3 guys enter that where listed by tomshardware to be the world overclocking champions. there will be a few amd systems there, im guessing there will be more then usual with the new Phenom II. We have a guy that just got his 940 to 5.6ghz the otherday.

There's no category for the socket 939 system that tries the hardest? I think there would still be some serious competition in that category, ahahah. Well, it would be nice to see some more newer AMD systems in an overclocking competition. It's been years since we've seen that.
