Ok a given is the patriot 1066 ram I am picking up but I was considering a patriot SSD as well but that leaves 300 bucks any other upgrades you think I can use?

My monitor is pretty up to date at 24 inches and I have been considering a blu-ray but why?

your sig says you have a 22" monitor. the higher resolution 24" will really give your 4850's a chance to shine.

actually, you don't really need anything, your system is fine as it is. Perhaps that money would be better served drawing interest in a savings account or starting a college fund for your kid(s).

Already have $10,000+ set aside for that and another $20,000+ for retirement so yeah. Well I have to change my sig then. This really is a spare $500

I'm considering the MSI DKA790GX as it has had rave reviews but I also like the board you are using, its an extra £25 on the MSI over here though.

I've been using Asus boards for 10+ years and I have only ever had one die on me.

I had an ECS before this one and a foxconn as well and they were ok but indeed Asus is tops.
