I had an MSI previous to my present Asus which lasted 7 years until I needlessly tried to overclock it and killed it

Mine was a socket A 462 board, I was well gutted as if I had just left well enough alone it would still be alive today and my lad would have a pc. He's now got to wait until I upgrade to inherit my old gear.

OK well what do you use the PC for mainly:
There's a few things that you can do, but it depends on the purpose of the PC really as to whether its worthwhile or not...
As already mentioned... BD-R/BD-RW Drive is one good option..!!
No mention in your sig of your speaker configuration, you might want to upgrade speakers..!!
If you have a lot of media use, then you might want to get some new HDD's and set up RAID.
You could add a 3rd 4850 for Tri-Crossfire...!!
Or my personal favourite....!!!! Spend the spare cash on a gift or treat for your wife, to make up for all the time and money you spent on the computer up to this point.......
it'll also put you in good standing for any future upgrade spending you may want to do..

i wouldnt trade her in for anything (ok maybe a couple of 4870x2 or a couple gtx295-lol.)
i do let her read my posts-she cant believe you guys havent drug me out into the street and beat the krap outta me-lol.
i said they would if they could-lol
looking for a NB waterblock-i ahve been to danger den and found 1-do you have any suggestions?
what cooler are you using?
or i might just buy a fan for the heatsink.
i do have the same ocz ram cooler that you have, but it wont fit over my ram, since i got the mushkin.
i can mount that over the NB,with a couple mods.

Actually I am giving her money to get her hair done and a pedicure so thats taken care of.
I am currently using 2.1 speakers but we are renovating and I have had to scale back. I will bring out my 5.1's once it's all done.
I am adding a 500 GB HDD that I already have and possibly a SSD as well.
And I feel the same way about my wife, she is the greatest and sticks by me no matter what.

Id say:
3rd 4850
Blue-Ray Burner
Hauppauge 1212 HDPVR (watch the video, it really explains it well)
Dozen Roses
Ive used that Hauppauge, its quite awesome. It really is worth the money if youre into it.

A 3rd 4850 would be great but I don't have enough room in my case, 2 is enough.
I have a Tv tuner waiting to be installed in my Media centre PC.

first thing I would replace would be your DDR 2 800 for DDR 2 1066 5 5 5 15.
the next think I would do it work on that full time overclock and push that thing to at least 3.7 Ghz full time.
to give you an idea of how this helps my 3dmark06 is with in 200 points of yours with a single 260 GTX .
IN a few hours time I suspect my single 285 GTX will pass the 19k mark.

The 1066 are a given and indeed with 5 5 5 15 timings.
I managed to hit just over 19k but next is 20k
