Even with the cold bug, must CPUs don't need -273 temps to achieve a good overclock, if the cpu has the heart.
Use a peltier and target keeping the CPU around 5C under load and stress. If your peltier is too large, you can drop your AMPs a bit to reduce the coldside performance. Most pelts want 16AMPs to give you their rated performance, but if you have a direct PSU with a controller you may be able to do this. Unfortunately, the opposite, going the other away does not work. Doesn't always work this way, but a little experimentation is required.
Sometimes the large PELTIERS are too active, meaning the temp rise and fall are too fast and the CPU doesn't like it. Adding a large copper heatsink on the coldside helps. In some cases, I converted back to a waterblock and applied the peltier to the side of my steel tank. Need to make sure your water pump has strong volume rating.

Hey ANYONE on this thread ...
I've got everything needed for my next RIG, but the CPU.
I'm looking for info by anyone ... on the performance of the "920 deneb"
1) should it get the same OC as the 940 deneb ... aren't they the same with the exception of clock speed?
2) do any of the "PII x4 denebs" have "stepping codes" from the fab plant? And if so, are there any data on them?
Looking to get the best possible CPU.

Holy cow thats cheap, someone buy me one and send it across the pond, our 940's are retailing at £190 and using current exchange rates 170 bucks is about £115.
I hope our prices will drop soon, if not I'm looking at getting the 955.
