Question, I thought with lower timings on your RAM you coud get the most OC out them, am misinformed? The timings for the G.Skill RipJaws X are at 9 i think.
Yes they have CL9 timings, but it has nothing to do about how well they overclock.
Some CL9 memory can overclock better than CL6 memory and visa versa.
Just depends on the quality (and density) of the modules.
High end chips (with lower timings) do tend to be better overclockers though.
The higher density (4GB) modules tend to not overclock as well as 1GB or 2GB modules.
Believe or or not, this Ripjaws-X kit is a bit faster than my 2x2GB Flares@ 2000MHz with CL7 timings.
