hey, im new to the forum. my hp laptop died last week and i wanted to salvage the parts to make a small desktop with it, just wondering what desktop motherboards will work with an AMD turion socket s1.

its probably possible, but not worth it, might as well go find some cheap pc parts on ebay, as for what motherboard, none except laptop motherboards, amd turions are usually S1G4 but there are a few others on different sockets, but theres no fullsize ATX (as in desktop pc motherboards) that will accept that CPU. i can help you pick out a few parts and point you to the right direction if needs be.

thanks, i found a couple s1 socket mobos, but they are poor quality at a high price. im just going to use the laptop with a pc monitor out in the garage as is. it would have been cool to build a desktop out of it though...
