Personally I'd go for the highest clock speed. In your list, the Athlon64 X2 6000+ (3.1 GHz, 1M L2, 89W) G2 65nm (models CTO) 53Y7720
If the B stands for BLACK edition then these will have unlocked cores and may be even better... maybe.

BUT more importantly.. can you find ANY of these for sale?

K9 3.1 GHz Dual core vs K10 2.4 GHz Quad Core and you pick the older K9? I;d say the Phenom X4 9750B but IMHO these processors wouldn't be an upgrade at all. They are still fairly aged, I'd replace the mainboard and get a FX or a Phenom 2 processor if you want the best bang for your buck.

same here i was able to do things a lot smoother on my phenom 2 1090t then what i can with my fx8120.haveing said that though it,ll be a little harder to find a phenom2 chip unles your willing to pay more for a older chip on ebay but it will be worth the hunting round if you can get your hands on one .if you look at benmark results the fx was a bit of a let down were as the 1090t was a lot better then ppl would have you belive .with my current setup a 20,000 score in 3d marks is not easy to acheive even with the cpu @4,4ghz were my phenom 1090t with all the same hardware was scoring in the 25,000area.
