I have a 8800gts and im up grading my old gaming machine for x-mas. I just want to make sure i get the right stuff and at the right price. I have 3 computers 2 i use for work and all other applications, the machine im upgrading is ONLY for gaming. My question is should I get...

For Just Gaming !!!

|||CPU|||
(1) AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor
or
(2) AMD Phenom 9500 Agena 2.2GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor

Next whats a good am2+ MB for the phenom ? I plan to get a new ATX case. I only have a 500w ATX power supply and was also wondering if it is enough power for this upgrade ?

The 6400+ will be better than the Phenom for gaming. Right now very few AM2+ motherboards are out, and the ones that are out are very expensive. 500W is plenty.

The last time I bought a motherboard was a year ago, so I'm not sure what's known to be top of the line anymore. I personally like MSI for the customer service, but I know there are a lot of people who prefer Asus. Here is a reasonably priced MSI motherboard that I would buy if I were looking for an AM2 board myself. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813130048
