OK I got a AM2 motherboard hoping in the future I could support AM2+ processors, but in reality some motherboard manufacturer's will not update their BIOS revision to support AM2+ processors (such as the Phenom). So will it be like this when AM3 processors come out and people are stuck with AM2+ motherboards? I don't know if I should get a AM2+ motherboard now in hopes it will support AM3 processors, or just wait for an AM3 motherboard.

AM3 is the platform that will support DDR3 memory, correct? Maybe I'll just wait for that since my next logical upgrade seems like DDR3 memory, Quad core cpu, and next gen video card with GDDR5 memory (R700).. Hopefully by then programming will catch up to 4x multithreading and DirectX 10

The point of all this I think is that AMD gives (or tries) to reward customers with value added solutions, unlike the hegemonic giant on the other side of the atlantic.

I hope the newer editions of the Phenom will support DDR3 memory so the nVidia 790i chipset can be released for the Phenoms but if not, it's another missed chipset for the AMD users.

NON offical support, means it doesn't "offically" support it yet, but should soon. Or they haven't offically announced the support of the 9850 BE yet, but it should support it. One of those two.
