When I reinstalled XP i didnt set multiple partitions and now that i want to get vista i think i may have just screwed myself. Is there a way to install vista on the same hdd with out wiping out the xp?

You could always download a program called partition magic and use that to create a new partition on your existing drive. It wont wipe out you existing operating system.

thanks but i had a problem and had to wipe the drive and install xp again anyhow
