IM New to the site ,Ive been a AMD fan from the start ,Im not turning back now ..
SO Im looking for a update on the CPU ..

Id like something that out performs what I have "That I will notice "
Im reading that the Phenom ll's will work with this board ?"Bios f7" is this true?
Im looking into the Athlon x4 620 or the x3 720 ,
but I dont know if they will work with my board . I found online they will ..If so great ..
Whats the best Low end CPU I can run at the moment .Im looking in the 100.00 150.00 range .. I have 3 Pc's to upgrade so price is important .

My Pc does ok for a cheap build , it plays them all , But I want a little more

I also have a ASROCK A780FullHD board ,,If this is better than the Gigabyte
Ill use it instead .. The ASROCK shows support all the way up till the 945 I think ..

Thanks anyone for some help , this is driving me nuts , I want to upgrade so bad ..They say yes but I dont know
If not whats the best CPU's I could buy that will fit these boards

Evga 8800GT 512
X2 5000+ stock speed
Gigabyte ma770ds3 rev 1.0
4 Gig DDR2 800 Trandsend
2 500 gig sata drives 7200 rpm's
Win XP Pro build ?

Second system is a
650 watt PSU
MSI K9A2 CF
AMD X2 5200
EVGA 9800gt 512
320 GIG sata 7200 rpm's
4 gig Kingston DDR 800

Im just looking for something to get me some more speed for a year or two ..
Or should I just get a AM3 board and redo the hard drive ?

but GA-MA770-DS3 (rev. 1.0) has no BIOS to support AM3 socket chips - could be u have to check with Gigabyte? Else that Asrock is a good candidate and in the $100-150 range have a look at $141 P2X4 925?

They have identical clocks so imagine the 925 as a 720BE with an extra core and locked multi Easier to OC the 720BE but the price of an entry level Deneb x4 makes the 925 hard to ignore hehe

OK thanks for the heads up ..Im mostly in to gaming I like the sound of the 925 .
Im going to try it on my board and see if it will work . If not Ill build another ..
Do you think I should get a new Motherboard ?
Oh and will I be able to use my DDR800 ? with the x4 925 or "1066 DDR 2 or 3" ?

Today I OC my x2, 5000+ to 2.99 its running smooth.. I ran Prime95 on it for 2 hours , not a hiccup , I will do a 24 hour on it some day

I would say based on what u have on hand just run that x4 925 on that Asrock and 4GB DDR2 800

That sounds like the best option ,I read something about running the ddr 2 only one stick in each channel ? whats that all about

Most mobo manufacturers state using one dimm per channel for DDR2-1066 support.
You will be fine populating all four dimms with DDR2-800 memory.
And last, only AM3 boards support DDR3 memory.
