What socket A64 is that particular chip? 754, 939, AM2 etc? If u are unsure download CPU-Z , run it and post a screen shot of the memory tab ^^

Oh what i meant was download that program in the link and run it on your machine. Let us know what the CPU tab is reporting ^^ Eg a serial Biostar OCer at Xtreme Systems forums with CPU-Z reporting as such on his processor/mainboard

Ok one last thing - report what your mainboard tab in CPU-Z is stating and in your SPD tab : how many DIMMs are 'empty' We have determined that the type of RAMs u are hunting for is DDR2 533 like these
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?Item=N82E16820141239
the only thing now that remains to be determined are:

1. Do u have empty DIMM slot for RAM addition
2. Is your motherboard compatible with 2GB modules and/or has a limit of just 2GB total perhaps?

its an AM2 board aka they should have at least 2 ram slots, unless its a flexATX board, also every chipset for the AM2 also supports 16gb or more ram lol.

What I suggest is simple here, throw out your current ram 533mhz DDR2 is really hurting that comp anyway, and id buy a 2gb kit of DDR2 800

Ok so u have an AM2 motherboard with 4 DIMM allowing a max of 8GB DDR2 support. So 2GB RAM modules are supported - i would just get a single stick of 2GB DDR2 533 then

Cheers ^^
