Answer:
registered is self correcting ram for server boards.

Only a server board with ECC register supported can use that ram.

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows about registered ECC DDR3 ram?
I have a new MSI 890GXM-G65 motherboard and want to use DDR3 4GB ECC registered with parity. Will it be compatible with 890gx chipset on that motherboard?

It is my understanding that the 890gx chipset can use ECC ram, but don't know about the Registered part?

Thanks
