Hey guys!

I've known how to build a computer and everything for a while, but now I'm finally doing it.


Specs:

Case: HAF 932
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 1TB
Optical: LITE-ON DVD/CD
Motherboard: ASUS M4A88TD-V
Processor: Phenom II x6 1090t B.E.
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB 1600 MHz Dual Channel
GPU: XFX Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 (x1)
PSU: XFX 850w
A.M. H.S./Fan: Corsair H50


I'm planning to get another 5870 at a later time so that's why I'm getting an 850w PSU.

Does it look good? Should I get a better mobo? Suggestions are welcome.

What size of Vram is your 5870?
If crossfiring 5870s I recommend 2gb per card's Vram.

Yeah that is a good point.

I'm probably not going to do eyefinity, so is it even worth it to crossfire at all?

I can't really afford to crossfire the 2gb gddr5 version because I'd have to go with a 1000w+ PSU. I think I may just stick with one card.

It probably isn't worth crossfiring with only 1GB gddr5. =( Thanks for the suggestion.

2gb per card would be a slight overkill! unless your running three 32" monitors.

Just match up your 1Gb XFX 5870 with another 1Gb 5870 and it will blow you mind.

In Bad Company 2 the 1gb is unplayable with 6 FPS versus 43 of 2gb!

Thats at 8xAA @ 5760x1080 res!!

greed460, unless your planing to use 3 or 6 monitors with eyefinity at insanly high res than theres no point going out and buying two new cards. As I said before just get your self another 1Gb 5870. on a normal 1920x1080 display (or three) thay will laugh at any game you though at them.

Halflife games may do 300 fps. L4D got less than 150 fps.
