its when you combine any fx series cpu with a 900+motherboard
and i believe any Radeon HD 6000 series GPU
When you do that it is called the "Scorpius Platform"
As far as advantages I think it was just made to "Go" together
Maybe making it perform better by the components being tailor made for each other?
(Please correct me if I am wrong)

I would go with (depending on your budget) a Radeon HD 6870, Crossxfire if you can. that would be a top notch system

Its a gimmick
AMD started it when thay bought ATI
It started with the "spider" wich was a phenom cpu with 4800 series gpu's then came the "dragon" Phenom II and 5800 gpu's. So its not that their tailor made for each other it just when you own and sell both cpu and gpu's your going to try to keep the comp out.

-------------------------
PII 1100T (Extinct)
Asus M4A78T-E (should be Extinct)
4Gb of Corsair XMS3 1600Mhz DDR3 (Going strong)
2x1GB 5850's (On their last lags)
Corsair HX850W (Awsome)
NZXT Phantom case (too ***** big)
