Ok this is my first post here And this is the system I want

AMD 64 athlon 3200 2GHz

ATI RADION 9800 [pro is too much$]

512MB DDR SDRAM pc-3200 2x256MB

80GB Barracuda 7200 RPM 8MB

Soundblaster live 5.1

Dont know what type of motherboard too get can someone please tell me what I would need for this type of system.

Great system. My Friend has the Gigabyte GA-K8VNXP Scoket 754 board. Its a VIA K8T800 chipset. I have seen this board, and it screams. Its kinda pricey, but its a killer board. Gigabyte has this other board for less, its an NForce3 chipset. Lemme get you a link here quick.....

Looks to be a sweet setup. I'd personally go with the ASUS K8V, or any K8T800 board for that matter. The nForce3 currently has a few quirks and has performance issues in certain apps because of its HT implementation. ASUS is pretty much like the Gigabyte board LV recommended. It's a bit pricey but well worth the money.

Hey thanx fellas Ill go with the Gigabyte GA-k8vnxp seems to be the best way to go wont haveto upgrade it hey.

should I use this kind of memory or get some crosshair or somthing Im not too cluey on computers.

I'd personally go with some Corsair, Kingston, or Mushkin brand memory. Make sure it's low latency (CL2) memory as well.
