you can pick up a 9800 pro 256mb graphics card for 250 or less!
or a 5900ultra 256mb nvidia geforce for that price or under!

9800 Pro for 200 or a 6800NU for 300... If u can dish out 300 bucks definitely get the 6800NU...

The 6800 is by far your best performance improvement. The set up you have will actually lag behind it. E machines rivits there MOBOs in so you will need to get a new case if you go that route as a standard atx MOBO will not fit. The boards bios, which is the worst for tweaking will not give you any options for any other type of performance gains but bumping the ram to 1024 will make a gaming difference. I would recommend you get a 150-200 dollar range card, play hard with benching programs and games and see if you're really going to get into this and stay into it. By the time you get your system upto speed for a 6800, the price will have come down(IMPORTANT no one mentioned that the little power supply in an e Machine won't handle a 6800, they are power hungry GPs. Anyhow stick around and don't get overly impulsive, it can be very expesive(I started with an e machine too T2625 It holds parts now in my closet

thanks alot arealsparky lol @ ur emachine but i got a bigger pc thats needs 2 be rebuilding so i will use that 1 im a amd fan n i saw amd had a forum so i signed up didnt want to buy a 200 plus video card n get no better performance
so i will use my old case n get a AMD 64 1 gb of ram a good mobo n then get the 6800 n find a big power supply

I am building a computer with an MSI Neo2 Nforce 3 Mobo and a socket 939 3500. I will be using an MSI Radeon 9800 Pro video card, case and PSU undecided yet. I already recieved my two WD Raptors in 74GB each. Ram considerations linked here. Which crucial is best? Which Kingston? Which OCZ, ect? Which would you go with? Even serious gamers usually don't need 2 gigs.

This means you have to have 2 x 1GB (OR) 1 x 1GB + 2 x 512MB chips.
How much is that gonna cost you?

Which is the cheaper setup?
Probably 2 x 512 chips at DDR333.
1 GB of memory is better at DDR333 than 512 MB at DDR400.
Get 1 gig for now and see how you do! Leave the money for a decent video card if you really want one!
For Matchload
First check the list for RAM that has been tested to work with this motherboard....

Read up on the GOOD RAM vs the BAD RAM and see if the models you want making sure they are not in the BAD catogory or if anyone has posted problems with them.
PC3500 + PC4000 are purley overclocking modules.
PC3200 is the norm aka DDR400. Are you going to be overclocking these?

I plan on playing around with overclocking. The 4000 is just ten bucks more per stick than the 3200. However, the 4000 is cas 2.5

Because of popularity ddr 400 is usually cheaper, My next move is to bump up to 3500 or more ram, but I have yet to verify if it will improve any, My corsair pro has never done me wrong and I've already clocked it over 3500 spec with a 2,3,3,8 setting at 2.8v, stability verified by mem check in dos
