Hey folks, this computer is getting an upgrade: I will soon be building a Athlon FX system so I will have extra parts to upgrade my Ammo PC. New added parts: Images soon. -AMD Athlon XP 3200+ 400mhz FSB -Chaintech nForce2 Ultra 400 mATX Board (Leadtek was not dual DDR) ....Chaintech also has a better sound card. -ATI Radeon 9600 (Coming soon, original 9200 was not DX9 enabled) -Laptop style harddrive to save space (10GB scrapper, but will be upsized as money allows) -Shuttle 200-watt PSU (Coming soon, current mATX PSU is only 145-watts) So new specs will be: AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Chaintech nForce2 Ultra 400 512MB Corsair XMS CAS2 400Mhz DDR (Dual mode) ATI Radeon 9600 128MB (low profile) IBM Laptop harddrive IBM Laptop DVD drive Shuttle 200-watt PSU Logitech MX300 Mouse That makes this PC both killer looking, and killer speed

QUOTE (brian_brian @ Oct 14 2003, 05:36 PM) any idea ... where can I buy this stuff... how long created this rig anyway ??? As far as the casing and stuff, the places I got the parts are listed in my project log linked from here: http://www.zapwizard.com/LANPC/' ">http://www.zapwizard.com/LANPC/ As far as the new graphics card you can get that from the suppliers listed at: http://www.power-color.com' ">http://www.power-color.com It took around 8 weeks of lots of work, and another 2 weeks for the perephrials and other smaller add-ons. I will be putting another week in now to do all the upgrades into the PC.

I need a low-profile AGP graphics card. (Riser wont' work) Power color makes the only low-profile DirectX 9 gaming card I have found. I originaly bought the Power color 9200 (DirectX8) But power color has agree'd to sponser a 9600 to replace my 9200. Either way I have been very happy with my 9200, and I am sure the 9600 will be even better.

Was checking this on the site - was good to see a really origional mod with some clever tinkering. I liked how you modified the connectors Really cool. Only thing I would do is make it a lot less brighter I already have a problem with my Shuttle - it has 1 x high intensitiy blue LED and its too bright.

That is also a concern I have. All the lighting you see on my PC is indirect. So the glow and effect is bright, but not to the point that it glares your eyes. It is very comfortable to be in front of my pc. The only light I turn off while gaming is usualy the keyboard lights. ----- In response to the questions about cost: No, I am no selling it. It cost around $1500 total. The PC's parts plus about $100 for the customizations.

Yeah, I noticed you have a switch on your keyboard for the lighting? I was thinking of using some High intensity LED's to get a similar effect, but I'd have to check brightness first.
Wow, I wish there was a web site that dealt just with this kind of thing. I saw the site with mods like the ET PC, and the Wireless Orb, but those are not as professional as your one. I'm more into the 'executive' look (clean, technical, professional) like your case. The others look to flimsy imho. Good ideas, but not practical enuff for me. Your Radio mod is cool. Very authentic useing existing buttons.
I would like to see you keep that one the way it is and see you work on something else, since you seem to be good at it!

(Fyi, it's not a Radio, as the faceplate was hand made) I am only upgrading the hardware in the PC, and finishing off a LCD modification that was always in the plans. I built this PC in anticipation of Halflife2, so I am upgrading to a DX9 card to run it. My next project is already in the works, so don't worry, I always have lots more to come.
