well...since my dad doesnt like to order over the internet, i got a lot of giftcards to bestbuy, since he figured i could get everythign i needed there....yea... /wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />
so im pondering over wat to get here. the system at my dads is the Venice rig, and here are the more detailed specs then in my signature: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Athlon 64 Venice 3000+ w/ stock heat sink DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D 2x256 Geil Ultra Platinum DDR500@DDR400, 2-3-3-6
60GB 7200RPM IDE100(133?) Maxtor(carried over from dell system) 48x CD-ROM(carried over from dell) 24x16x48(or something like that) CD Burner(carried over from dell) generic floppy(carried over from dell)
Soundblaster Live! 16-bit Sapphire X700Pro w/ stock cooling
Windows XP Home SP2 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i listed those because i really want to purchase parts to upgrade this system. when i look at this configuration, the thing that SCREAMS to b upgraded is the sound card, burner, hard drive, and RAM. well, forget the RAM, since a GB of corsair is like 300 bucks there /ohmy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='ohmy.gif' /> /mellow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mellow.gif' />
a hard drive recommendation woudl b nice from there stock, and i think ive already picked out the $84 buck audigy 4 for the soundcard. they also have the X-FI there for 130 bucks, but last time i checked u cant get a hard drive for the remaining 30, and my speakers arent godo enough to take advantage of the X-FI anyways.
about the burner...if i have some left over, that will b my next option, or mayb just a CD-Burner capable of playing DVD's, but i dont burn many CD's now so thats not my 1st option.
if u kno of anythign else there, or can suggest something better for my money, please feel free. also, i wouldnt recommend things that come to something like $159.99, because keep in mind there is tax, and ALL i have is the giftcards.
thanks /smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

Quite frankly, what you may find in BestBuy for $160 probably can be found on the web for half the price. I would probably suggest waiting around for the BlackFriday Deals and use them then. BB has stuff actually worth buying then.

I've never seen Raptors at BB either. And the ones at CompU$A are well over $200 (retail 74GB), so even if your local BB has them, $160 aint gonna cover it. You could always look at a logitech MX1000 or 518 mouse, or a Saitek Eclipse keyboard. Maybe even a LightScribe DVD burner...
and don't forget, BB has a LOT more than just computer stuff.

Better idea....find a friend/family that is buying something at Best Buy. Give them the gift cards and take cash.
