I am currently in process of rebuilding my computer. I switched from my K8V Deluxe socket 754 mobo to a ASUS A8N SLI mobo, upgraded my single eVGA 6600GT agp to dual 6600 GT PCI-E cards, upgraded to 2gb's of ram, even upgraded my power supply to an antec TrueBlue 480 2.0 p/s. but i cant decide if i should get the latest FX proc, or go dual core....I do a lot of gaming, but i also do a lot with programs and apps....anyone have any suggestions out there?
Well you said that you do a lot of gaming and a lot of "apps". If you want to do BOTH at the same time without having any lag in either one, GO DUAL CORE, if you want to do just 1 at a time, GO FX. I always recommend dual core though, mostly because I can't picture many enthusiasts that would run a few applications at once, I only picture them being like me-multitasking like MAD!!! /ph34r.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='ph34r.gif' />

Think im going to end up going with a dual core proc...only because Ill get more out of it overall. and its only a few FPS that i will lose. And with the dual SLI graphic cards, I should have more than enough. Plus going from a Athlon 64 3200+, either one is a big step up.
